He also performed in school small groups and large ensembles, played gigs in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, and was a member of the rock band Budapest One.

In August of 2000, David finished school and moved back to Chicago for 5 years where he kept an active schedule of teaching over 40 students a week, performing, rehearsing, and practicing. David has performed with an array of Chicago musicians including Eddie De Hass, Von Freeman, The John Kregor Trio, and Steve Million. David currently lives in NYC where he records as a studio drummer, teaches, and plays with the city's top musicians in rock, funk, and jazz groups including WAS/IS, The Jerome Covington Guitar Trio, and plays in the Brooklyn Indie rock band, The Denzels.
